What brands do we use for personal hygiene?
Personal hygiene is very important for physical and mental health. The way we feel and present ourselves is also related to personal hygiene. We have preferences depending on price, quality, quantity, ingredients, all very important for well-being.
But few of us know that there are factors that contribute to stress, but less pronounced, which are found in the products we keep in the bathroom. Many hair or skincare products contain a range of petroleum-based components that can affect our immune system, hormonal balance and overall energy level.
Among the personal care products is toothpaste. Common brands of toothpaste, for example, contain a range of chemicals based on oils, dyes and artificial flavors. However, there are also alternative brands that use herbal products in their composition and are thus healthier.
Ordinary toothpaste contains baking soda, so it’s pretty simple to prepare it yourself, we just have to get used to a different taste and a different consistency. Many hair and skin care products contain ingredients that actually cause long-term disorders by blocking the normal functioning of the skin pores and hair structure.
Pay attention to the label!
We all want to stay healthy, stay young and beautiful, don’t we? There are many brands of healthier cosmetics that can be found in some stores or can be ordered online. Our health is very important and that is why it is good to avoid using soaps, shampoos and lotions that contain the following ingredients:
Mineral oils: derived from oil, they remain on the surface of the skin, leaving the impression of hydration, but, in fact, clog pores and thus cause acne or cancer.
Formaldehyde: used as a disinfectant and preservative, it causes severe irritation of mucous membranes and skin, being a recognized carcinogen.
Paraffin: oily and quite harmless to the skin when pure, but the commercial version often contains irritants.
Lanolin: obtained from a sheep’s gland, can cause irritation of sensitive skin.
Oil gel: very greasy, once on the skin it is difficult to remove completely. As a result, dust and other toxins from the atmosphere adhere to the skin, accumulating in the pores causing irritation and the appearance of spots.
Borax: Sodium borate is a powerful tanning agent used in the leather industry and is a powerful compound for stove and oven cleaners. It is also used as a preservative and softener in many face and body creams.
Propylene glycol and sodium laurisulfate: pass easily into the blood and remain in the liver where it causes other diseases, including vision loss.
For a harmonious life it is necessary to take into account everything around us. We care about personal hygiene, but it is good to take care of the environment in which we live. A harmonious house is a healthy place that supports us, does not hurt us, say Feng Shui experts. It is very important to know what kind of products we buy, where they come from and what we do with them. Health comes first!
